EnvÃan mensaje de un continente a otro. La tecnologÃa moderna permitió a un cientÃfico de la India enviar un mensaje por internet a su colega en Francia usando simplemente el poder de su mente, según los resultados de un estudio publicado en la revista ‘Plos One‘.
Los investigadores utilizaron auriculares de electroencefalografÃa (EEG) para registrar la actividad eléctrica de las neuronas en el cerebro y convertir las palabras ‘hola’ y ‘adiós’ en los impulsos de código binario.Se envió un mensaje por internet a más de 8.000 kilómetros a través de ondas cerebrales.
El Mensaje
Un primer voluntario, situado en Trivandrum, la capital del estado indio de Kerala, eligió una palabra y envió el pensamiento en forma de mensaje al otro sujeto, que se encontraba en Estrasburgo, Francia.
Un software informático tradujo las ondas cerebrales del primer sujeto al código binario y entregó el resultado a través de Internet a un dispositivo para la estimulación eléctrica del cerebro que, a su vez, tradujo el código binario en ondas y las envió directamente al cerebro del segundo participante del experimento. Esta tecnologÃa ha sido desarrollada conjuntamente por la Universidad de Barcelona, la compañÃa francesa Axilum Robotics, la Facultad de Medicina de Harvard y la empresa española Starlab Barcelona.
