La destacada Atleta Nacional Inés Melchor, logra su segunda medalla de oro, siendo ya la octava medalla para el equipo peruano en los Juegos Odesur 2014 que se realiza en Santiago de Chile.
Las demás medallas que se obtuvieron fueron Brianda Rivera en tiro, las hermanas Cuglievan en esquà acuático, Inés Melchor en atletismo, dos medallas, Humberto Wong en judo, Javier McFarlane en atletismo y Asier Cilloniz en tiro conquistaron el oro en sus respectivas modalidades.
Para logra su segunda medalla Inés Melchor participó en los 5 mil metros planos, quedando primero con 15:51:20 minutos, ratificando su gran potencia es este tipo de competencias.
